They are planning a BBQ dinner fundraiser at their own facility on Saturday, January 25 from 4-7 p.m.
In addition to delicious food, the event will also include door prizes, silent auction items, and desserts and goodies home-baked by our Senior Center participants.
All proceeds will benefit the center. Mark your calendars and invite your friends.
Just to let you know, the center will be closed on Monday, January 20 for the observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
Meals and activities will resume on Tuesday as usual.
With tax season upon us, IRS-certified volunteers will once again offer Free Income Tax Preparation Assistance at the Senior Center, 102 NW 6th Ave., every Thursday from February 6 through April 10.
Help will be given on a first-come, first-served basis for those who sign in from 8:30 a.m. to noon each Thursday.
Come prepared – bring a photo ID for you and/or any joint filer, Social Security cards or Individual Taxpayer Identification notices for you, your spouse and/or dependents, this year’s tax package and/or label, a copy of your 2012 tax return, proof of account for direct deposit of refund (e.g., voided check), and all forms that show income received in 2013 (W2, 1099, SSA 1099).
Sports fans will be camped in front of their TV sets on Super Bowl Sunday.
We’ll be following the trend with an adults-only Super Bowl Party at the Senior Center on Sunday, February 2.
Doors will open at 5 p.m., in time to watch the 5:30 p.m kick-off on our big-screen TV.
We hope attendees will be willing to pitch in a $3 donation to cover the cost of food and drinks. Call us at (940) 325-6470 or stop by the center reception desk to let us know you’re coming.
If you haven’t already, plan to visit the Senior Center this year.
We’re all winners here!
