Have you heard that old saying, “One person’s junk is another person’s treasure”? Well let me tell you, we’ve got treasure to spare!
Since early Monday morning, our volunteers have been unpacking, sorting, pricing and arranging truckloads of treasure for the annual Gigantic Garage Sale that begins tonight. Our $10-per-person Early Bird Sale will run from 5-7 this evening, but the real fun begins tomorrow morning. The sale from 9-5 on Friday, March 14, and 9-1 on Saturday, March 15, is free to the public.
Friday shoppers will also be able to take advantage of a fantastic Bake Sale. Our Senior Center participants are working overtime to produce confections and goodies that will make your mouth water.
With scores of our participants volunteering their time and energy to set up and run the sale for us, we’re grateful for the businesses and individuals who have pitched in to help us this week. Palo Pinto Nursing & Rehab has provided snacks and drinks every day. IntegraCare, Serenity Estates, Mineral Wells Nursing & Rehab, Holiday Hills Country Club, Renew Home Health, and Old School Pizza are taking turns furnishing a daily lunch. Comfort Suites, Texas Best Donuts, and Wise
Regional Health System are providing breakfasts each morning. We also appreciate the help we have received from the County Sheriff’s Office. All of these groups and individuals have fueled the work that is going into this fundraiser.
Even though our Garage Sale will be over, there are plenty of activities going on in the coming weeks to keep us busy. On Monday, March 17, we will celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with a Blarney Contest. If you have a Tall Tale to tell, please sign up and come out to share your whopper.
At lunch next Thursday, March 20, we will be giving out small gifts to celebrate the First Day of Spring. Call 940-325-6470 to make your reservation for lunch.
