Whether it comes suddenly, without warning, or slowly over a period of weeks or months, we are never fully prepared for that moment of good-bye.
There is just no easy way to part from a loved one.
At the Senior Center, our hearts are going out to those in our community who have experienced such good-byes in the last few days.
We grieve with the family and friends of Robin Allen; with Dwain Eaton and Nancy Martin in the loss of their mothers; with Guinn Sweet in the passing of her husband; with those who loved Theata Malicoat; and with the families of all our participants who have passed on in recent months.
We hope that the memories of their lives and their love will bring comfort to those left behind.
Even in the shadow of death, life’s routines continue.
Although we anticipate that many of our participants will attend Robin’s funeral tomorrow morning, the center will hold its monthly birthday party as scheduled.
The theme for our second-Friday dance on Oct. 11 will be Costume Party.
As always, we are grateful to dance sponsor Bethany HomeHealth Services for providing decorations and food.
We have scheduled another trip to Winstar Casino for Wednesday, October 16. The $20 cost includes transportation, a free breakfast buffet, and $20 of casino credit for senior adults. Bus seats are limited, so call soon at (940) 325-6470 if you are over 50 years old and would like to go on the trip.
As a final word to those in mourning, please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you during this difficult time.
May you be blessed with comfort and strength in the days to come.
