Earning the Church of God MVP award for the third time this season, Thompson was terrific in a tough 35-28 district loss to Springtown on Friday, Oct. 20.

Khalil Thompson makes a cut vs Springtown

MWHS junior running back Khalil Thompson makes a cut to get by a pair of Springtown Porcupine defenders. Thompson had 42 carries for 244 yards and two touchdowns in the Rams' 35-28 loss on Oct. 20.

With 42 carries for 244 yards, both season highs, Thompson kept the Rams within striking distance averaging 5.8 yards per-carry and scoring twice on the ground for his 12th and 13th rushing touchdowns this season.

Additionally, Thompson's effort against Springtown was his sixth 100-yard rushing game and third 200-yard rushing game this season. The junior also grabbed five passes for 51 yards and a third TD on a 23-yard catch.

For the season, Thompson has more than 1,200 yards on the ground while averaging just under 7 yards per-carry.
