The Marines now have a permanent place in the National Vietnam War Museum.
The museum recently took in an amphibious Vietnam-era 39-ton Marine LVTP-5 and now has it on display on the museum grounds. The LVTP was short for Landing Vehicle, Tracked, Personnel.
Friends of the Museum Treasurer Jim Messinger said the craft was obtained from the former Pate Museum near Granbury after it ceased operations.
