A community blood drive will take place Monday from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at Palo Pinto General Hospital.
Look for the bus in the north parking lot. Then, from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m., the drive will be at First United Methodist Church (behind the Baker Hotel).
“With the devastating storm that hit the East Coast, there is a need for blood donations,” said Pat Talkington, chair for the PPGH Auxiliary Blood Drive. “Carter Blood Care will provide blood as needed to the East Coast blood centers. We can do our part by giving on Monday to the Community Blood Drive.”
Donors must provide a personal photo identification such as a driver’s license, be 17 years of age with no upper age limit, weigh at least 110 pounds, most medications taken are acceptable but not if you are on antibiotics, Accutane, Propecia or Proscar. You should eat a meal two to four hours prior to donating and drink lots of water prior to and after.
For more information call 1-800-DONATE4 or come to the drive and ask for the team leader.
