Mineral Wells Index

Clark Gardens has added two extra nights to host their annual Old Fashioned Holiday Festival presented by Chicken Express.

Festival activities will take place on Friday, Dec. 20 and Saturday, Dec. 21.

According to Garden Director Carol Clark Montgomery, “Due to our first two nights being canceled because of weather conditions and other unforeseen circumstances we wanted to give the public ample opportunity to experience the festival.

“It is a much anticipated tradition for many area families and one that we love to share with the public.”

Friends and family will be able to enjoy the holiday season by strolling through the gardens while being surrounded by trees of lights with laughter and music filling the air.

Come out to visit Santa and his reindeer while enjoying warm hot chocolate and coffee.

Children can enjoy crafts, snow to throw and a weenie roast. To top the night off families can enjoy a horse drawn hayride. Bring your own camera to capture priceless holiday memories.

Entertainment features local dancing troupes and musicians. Among those performing are Gary Gibson and Johnny Holliday on Dec. 21.

Admission fees are $10 for adults and $5 for children; free admission passes are available while supplies last at the Chicken Express restaurants in the following communities: Burleson, Cedar Hill, Duncanville, Ennis, Granbury, Joshua, Mansfield, Midlothian, Mineral Wells, Waxahachie, Weatherford and Willow Park.

Additional fees apply for the hay ride ($3/person), food and beverages (prices vary depending on selection) and children’s crafts ($1).

Free activities include the visit with Santa and his reindeer, snow to throw, and entertainment.  Due to the previous cancellations all Chicken Express passes, regardless of the dates, will be honored on Dec. 20 and December 21.

Festival activities kickoff at 5 p.m. and end at 9 p.m.
