OBITUARY: Carolyn Kay Veach

Carolyn Kay Veach, 54, of Santo passed away on Jan. 3, 2013. She was born in Clinton, Okla., the daughter of Jesse and Ruby Alene (Riddles) Veach.

She is survived by children Chree Lamaster White and husband Danny, J.D. Lamaster and wife Tammy, and Jessica Veach; mother: Alene Veach; brothers: Ralph Veach and wife Janna, Glenn Veach and wife Betty and Steve Veach and wife Carolyn; sisters: Judy Borden and husband Terry and Joyce Dunn and husband Wade; grandchildren: Cassius Anguiano, Austin, Madison, Samantha, Max, Emmaree, Hadley and Carley Kay, along with numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, aunts and uncles and friends.

She was preceded in death by life partner: Jim King, sister: Sharon Dilsaver and her father, Jesse Veach.

Visitation is scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 6, 2013, from 6-8 p.m.; services are Monday, Jan. 7, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the chapel.

    An exhibit, “The Blessings of Liberty,” is now open for viewing at the Palo Pinto County Old Jail Museum and will be available through Aug. 2. It is provided and organized by Humanities Texas, the state affiliate of the National Endowment for the Humanities. A community grant from Humanities to the Museum paid for the exhibit. This is the third year outright grants have been awarded to the museum.

Civic leaders and school and city officials met Thursday at Mineral Wells ISD’s administration offices to hear a presentation about bringing the Army Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps program, or JROTC, to the high school.
