New constable in town

Commissioners name Hunter new Pct. 4 Constable

“Hunter’s been a long–serving public servant around here,” he said. “He’s certainly capable and we wish him best.”

In other business, Commissioners:

• Approved a request to re–plat Phase 1, Block F, Lots 34, 35 and 36 of the 7–R Ranch Subdivision.

• Approved a request to re–plat Phase 2, Block H, Lots 7 and 8 of the 7–R Ranch Subdivision.

• Approved a request to re–plat Phase 3, Section 5A, Lots 748–R and 749–R of The Hills Above Possum Kingdom Lake Subdivision.

• Approved a request to re–plat Phase 3, Section 5, Lots 636–R, 637–R and 638–R of The Hills Above Possum Kingdom Lake Subdivision.

• Approved a request to re–plat Phase 3, Section 5, Lots 516–R, 516–R–A, 517–R and 517–R–A of The Hills Above Possum Kingdom Lake Subdivision.

• Approved a request to re–plat Phase 3, Section 5, Lots 522–R–A, 523–R and 523–R–A of The Hills Above Possum Kingdom Lake Subdivision.

• Approved a resolution for Nicklas to sign Approval of Financing for Dallas YMCA. This does not cost the county anything. Pursuant to YMCA borrowing $20 million to upgrade a property they are leasing in the area.

• Awarded a bid to Terry Custom Homes to repair the roof of the Poston Building in Mineral Wells.

• Approved new traffic signs for precincts. Commissioners needed to replace multiple stop signs by 2014. Signs will be purchased for $25.78 each, instead of the usual $40 per sign.

• Approved Bluelinegeo to lay cable along county right–of–way and on county roads (Precinct 2).

• Approved request for proposals and to advertise for proposals for Imaging Project for marriage and death records (County Clerk).

• Approved permit renewal application for county’s wastewater discharge and approval for any fees.

• Set a public hearing on Nov. 25 concerning designation of reinvestment zone and tax abatement for Texas Ultra Precision Ammunition plant considering location in Mineral Wells.

• Heard a notification from Sheriff Mercer to spend forfeiture money. Mercer plans to  send 10 officers to a week of Advanced Hostage Rescue training in Wichita Falls.

• Approved a maintenance agreement for Net Data server.

• Approved modification of Aflac Contract for 125 Plan.

• Approved Election Systems and Software, LLC, post–warranty hardware maintenance and software maintenance and support services agreement.

• Considered position reclassification on the fiscal year 2014 wage scale for an employee in the District Attorney’s office. Resulted in a 2–2 vote and failed.

• Approved a request by Veritas Energy LC to bore Holt Road.

• Left off the burn ban.
