Facility trying to put the bite on bed bugs

Sandstone Foothills praised for efforts since infestation

According to city officials, the management of Sandstone Foothills apartment complex has dealt with a recent bedbug infestation quickly and appropriately.

City Health Inspector Stephanie Thomas said she received an anonymous phone call Sept. 12, informing her of several complaints about the insects in more than one apartment at the Brazos Drive property.

Thomas said she has not received reports of bed bug issues at any other local facility or commercial complex.

“I called and left a message with the management there and requested the last four months of pest control,” she said, explaining staff confirmed they were aware of the situation and released pest control records dating back to last October.
