Fly the County Flag

There has been a lot of talk lately about flags, but did you know Palo Pinto County has its own flag?

It does, and has since 2008 when the design was presented by the Palo Pinto County Historical Association and approved by county commissioners.

The flag's red color symbolizes Palo Pinto County’s red earth. The blue symbolizes the Brazos River and white symbolizes the 'sweat of the early settlers as they worked creating the civilization we enjoy today.' The flag includes a gold star containing the year 1857, the year the county was incorporated. The words 'Palo Pinto County' are also in gold.

Palo Pinto County is one of 55 of the state's 254 counties to have its own county flag, and you can have your own to fly along with the U.S., Texas and any other banners you might run up your flag pole or appropriately display.

Clarence McDonald is shown holding up a 4x5 version of the county flag you can purchase for just $25 from the PPCHA. To purchase your county flag call McDonald at (940) 328-4023.
