Mineral Wells Index
— Junior History Club of Mineral Wells met at Holiday Hills Country Club for their monthly meeting. Jenny Tarleton and Babe Gilbert were the hostess and program leader for the month. County Attorney and local historian Phil "Bud" Garrett was the program. He has been a frequent guest of the Junior History Club because of his avid love of history and his interesting stories associated with history.
This month, Phil talked about what happened to the Hexagon House and the Crazy Water Sign that used to go across the road in downtown Mineral Wells until 1958 when it was in such bad shape it was condemned. The group enjoyed the presentation and asked a lot of questions.
The next meeting for Junior History Club will be held at the Pythian Home in Weatherford. Members will tour the facility and learn about its history on May 8.
