The Mineral Wells ISD School Health Advisory Committee is working on a random drug-testing policy to have in place for the 2013-14 school year.
MWISD would like the opportunity to inform parents and the community about the proposed policy, intended to deter students from the use of illegal drugs and alcohol, and to better enforce a drug-free educational environment for its students.
The SHAC will present this information in open-forum meetings, taking place Thursday at 6 p.m., at Mineral Wells High School, and on Feb. 4 at the junior high, also at 6 p.m.
Ron Davis with Forward Edge Inc., a company that performs random drug testing, will present information on synthetic drug use and random-drug testing at this week's meeting at MWHS.
The district encourages parents and community members to attend either of these upcoming meetings. For more information contact (940) 325-3427.
