Roger Patel has won so many awards he’s lost count.
Now, the owner of the Mineral Wells Days Inn and Suites has picked up the most prestigious honor yet to add to his hotel’s growing trophy case – one that already holds in the neighborhood of 14 national awards over the last few years.
Medallia – a third party that ranks hotels by compiling survey responses and ratings, similar to what JD Power and Associates does with vehicles – named the Mineral Wells Days Inn the “Property of the Quarter” for the economy tier, during the second quarter of this year.
This means, out of all economy hotels in the nation, the local Days Inn was rated hands down the very best. According to Medallia’s report, Patel’s hotel earned an average overall rating of 4.7 with 100-percent positive reviews. It also earned a perfect score for service on TripAdvisor.com.
“We’ve got a wonderful product here in Mineral Wells,” Patel said. “My team works really hard. Everyone should be proud having the number one Days Inn in the world, here in Mineral Wells.”
In addition to the Medallia honor, Patel also earned three awards for his hotel this year in the company’s annual awards ceremony in Las Vegas. The local lodge has consistently beaten out the other 1,700 Days Inn locations nationwide, having nabbed five of the 10 awards handed out last year.
“I’m very pleased that we’re well respected in the Days Inn family,” Patel said. “It’s very difficult to repeat awards year after year, just like any NBA Championship or Super Bowl winner. To do it three years in a row in our business, competing with all these other hotels, it’s very challenging, but I’m very proud.”
