Dalton 2014: County’s first baby

What better way to bring in the new year than with a new baby? Better yet, to be the first baby born in Palo Pinto County? This is how the new proud parents, Joe and Shannon Worley, began their year. Their new son, Dalton Worley, was born on Jan. 1, 2014 at 9:57 p.m.

When asked how they felt about having the first child in Palo Pinto County Mrs. Worley responded, “We joked about it and didn't think it would happen. It makes it nice and memorable.” What is more exciting is the fact that Dalton is their first child.

The couple arrived at the hospital around 6:30 p.m. on Dec. 31, so it took more than a day for little Worley to finally decide to meet the outside world. What makes the situation a bit comical is that “last year during this time, we were on our honeymoon in Times Square watching the ball drop,” Mrs. Worley said.

Other family members present were Pam Worley, Joe's mother, Kent and Rasa Edwards, Shannon's parents, Ronald and Sandy Edwards, and Reetha Prichard, Shannon's grandparents along with many friends of the family.

To make things more exciting, the couple will receive a hand full of prizes. The prize list includes, a case of formula, a case of diapers and an auxiliary-gift bag from Palo Pinto General Hospital, a Mesquite Pit gift certificate, a Pulidos gift certificate, a Bennett's Office Supply floor puzzle, a First Financial Bank savings bond, and Emerald Lane Gifts. gift card, a Walmart gift card and a Taco Casa gift card.
