Musical chairs isn’t just for kids. Based on recent changes made within Mineral Wells ISD, the district has undergone its version of musical chairs, as it works to replace and shuffle administrators.
MWISD board members met in a special meeting Wednesday to approve reassignments and several new personnel.
A veritable domino effect started when assistant superintendents Bobbye Estes-Akin and Linda Porter-Bradford retired. This has kept new MWISD Superintendent Gail Haterius – just over four weeks on the job – busy promoting, reassigning and even hiring administrators to fill in the gaps as they appear.
She said she interviewed administrators “to determine the best placement to move our district forward academically while taking in mind school safety and other often intangible factors in making schools successful.”
