Pedestrian hit by vehicle, transported to PPGH

By CHRIS AGEE

A motorist hit a local pedestrian in a roadway near the Mineral Wells Pre-Parole Transfer Facility last week, authorities say.

The incident took place just before noon Saturday, according to Mineral Wells Police.

Investigating officers report Sherry Smith Robertson, 61, of Mineral Wells, was struck in the leg by a vehicle near the intersection of Heintzelman Road and Shurtz.

Police reported Donna Marie Boss, 51, of Euless, was driving a 2010 Kia Soul north in the 700 block of Heintzelman Road when she hit Robertson, who Boss said was standing in front of her vehicle.

Boss told police she was moving forward in traffic and did not realize a pedestrian was in her path.

Reports list driver inattention as a contributing factor to the collision, though no charges against Boss were included in the report.

EMS transported Robertson to the Palo Pinto General Hospital emergency room to be treated for a possible injury.
