K2 arrests made

— Local officers pulled over a 1995 Ford Taurus in the 1900 block of U.S. Highway 180 East, March 29, for expired registration. Police found drug paraphernalia in plain sight, according to a Mineral Wells Police Department spokesperson.

He said this initiated a search and arrest of the driver, J.C. Wayne Clark, 21, after police found “several packets” of a green leafy substance, believed to be K-2.

A passenger in Clark's vehicle, Joseph Evans, 24, was also arrested for possession when police “found what they believed to be K2 on his person,” said officials.

Jewelry gone missing

On March 26, Jonathan Lee George, 35, was arrested for burglary of a home in the 1100 block of S.E. 6th Avenue. The occupant was out of town and, upon returning, found an estimated $8,000 worth of jewelry missing.

A police spokesperson said that during the investigation George became a suspect and was arrested for burglary.

Home computing

A homeowner noticed an Acer laptop stolen just after several subjects were in the home on March 30, according to police.

In the course of the investigation, Jacob Aaron Carl Tankersley, 18, and Kayla Marie Radford-Saint, 18, were arrested for theft over $1,500 and under $20,000, a police spokesperson said. He added that both individuals were also arrested for warrants on traffic tickets.

Swiss Army incident

Shortly after noon on March 30, police responded to a possible aggravated assault at West City Park.

Authorities said several juveniles were playing on a baseball field when one reportedly became irritated. The police report states that this juvenile removed a Swiss Army knife from a bag and placed it to the throats of two different juveniles.

There were no injuries and no arrests made, according to police.

Hit, hit and run

After hitting a gas meter and telephone pole, located in the 2000 block of S.E. 16th Street, on Easter Sunday, a driver fled the scene; but officials said an eyewitness led them to arrest William Michael Ruiz.

Borrowed and gone

A complainant reported to police that he lent out a 16-foot utility trailer and could not get it back. According to a police report, the person borrowing the trailer no longer has it.

The missing trailer is white with a metal plate welded on the side.

Storage theft

On March 26, a storage building or shop in the 500 block of S.W. 20th Street was burglarized and an air compressor and staple gun taken. Police ask anyone with information on this burglary to call the MWPD at (940) 328-7770 or Crime Stoppers at (940) 325-0000.
