Most of the outages were due to tree limbs weighed down by ice and affecting power lines. He said they had to bring in some extra crews to help concentrate on tree trimming and clearing out the lines before they could close fuses to bring customers back on line. Overall though, he said it was nothing major.
“It was just messy with the moisture and it freezing,” he said. “Trees get really heavy during that time and that’s normally what creates problems.”
