SANTO – Devin Wyman’s player’s card lists him at 6 feet, 8 inches tall and weighing 335 pounds. Standing next to him, he is every bit of that.
The former pro football defensive lineman visited with Santo students on Friday then, wearing his New England Patriots jersey, was on the sideline to help coach and provide inspiration for the Wildcats on homecoming night, spoiled by the Perrin Pirates, which won 28-20.
“I’m good friends with Mr. Doug, a pastor in the area,” Wyman said. “We came out to the schools, spent some time all day. Spoke to the high school, the middle, the elementary.”
He signed plenty of autographs and cards, and on the sidelines shouted instructions and encouragement to the Wildcats, working with them individually.
