PALO PINTO – A former bank branch manager received nine years in prison after she was convicted Tuesday in the theft of $128,000 from the institution.

A two-man, 10-woman Palo Pinto County jury sentenced Lisa Pendergraft to nine years incarceration and a $10,000 fine for the second-degree felony charge of theft between $100,000 and $200,000. Pendergraft could have been sentenced to up to 20 years on the charge.

Pendergraft, 46, of Graford, pleaded guilty to the charge and the jury deliberated for less than an hour before returning with its sentencing verdict.

Pendergraft was the branch manager of Graham Savings and Loan in Graford and was a trusted 18-year employee.

Bank officials reportedly discovered the discrepancy Dec. 6, 2011, during a surprise audit of the branch.
