“The purpose of our organization is to provide local and regional scholarships to graduating high school students and recruits attending the Weatherford College Police Academy,” Chris Crawford said.
Each year, the organization strives to aide a minimum of four high school students and one student from the college academy.
According to the organization's website, the organization will:
• Treat all applicants equally with dignity, respect and compassion regarding their educational financial needs.
• Provide financial aid without discrimination.
• Practice excellent stewardship for all donating sponsors.
• Promote open door communication with the public.
Selection criteria for scholarships may include but is not limited to: participation in school, community or church activities, academic performance, financial need and recommendations from teachers and community members.
“We are hopeful that [the tournament] will continue to grow,” Crawford said. “We can't provide scholarships without the players and the sponsors. We want to extend our tremendous gratitude to our sponsors, players and volunteers.
Together, we are making a difference for college-bound high school students and local law enforcement programs.”
The tournament is sponsored by Chicken Express.
