Police work various property crimes

Local law enforcement officers received a number of theft and burglary reports in recent days, according to a police source.

Reports indicate a complainant in the 900 block of N.W. 5th Avenue told police a vehicle parked at the location was burglarized April 23.

The resident indicated a number of compact discs and about $20 in cash were taken from the vehicle, and police did not include any sign of forced entry on the report.

No signs of force were evident in a residential burglary reported the following day in the 1300 block of S.W. 10th Avenue, either, police said.

According to the complainant in that report, someone entered the residence and took unspecified prescription drugs from the premises.

A subject entered a residence in the 300 block of Shady Oak Circle and removed several items, according to a report filed Saturday.

The complainant told police three DVD players, a flat screen television, and a flat iron were missing from the home.

Reports list the combined value of the stolen items at $493.

About $2,000 worth of wheels and tires were reportedly taken from a vehicle parked in the 2600 block of Farm-to-Market Road 1195 South, according to a report filed Saturday.

Complainants in the 4800 block of U.S. Highway 180 East told police Sunday someone entered the residence and removed a video gaming system and two games.

Reports indicate police found no sign of forced entry into the home and the complainant explained the window to the bedroom from which the items were taken was left unlocked.

The estimated value of the lost property is $325.

A witness in the 100 block of Country Club Parkway reported noticing a suspicious person walking with a black bag.

Police were able to contact a nearby resident who confirmed a laptop computer and carrying bag were recently taken from the location.
