Coinciding with the case's two-year anniversary, Palo Pinto County Sheriff Ira Mercer announced this week an increased $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for killing Krishonda Townsend.
Townsend, who at the time was 19 years old and lived in Gibtown, disappeared in the early morning hours of July 5, 2010, following an Independence Day celebration at Lake Bridgeport with friends. She was last seen at the home of friends in Mineral Wells on U.S. Highway 180 West just before midnight. Her car was found the morning of July 5th in the 800 block of S.E. 3rd Avenue.
