First responders worked for about 30 minutes to remove the driver of an overturned pickup truck Wednesday afternoon, about 5 miles south of Mineral Wells on U.S. Highway 281 South.
According to witnesses at the scene, the driver appeared to have overcorrected, hitting a west bar ditch and flipping. The vehicle landed on its roof and its female driver was pinned inside.
She was reportedly responsive at the scene and was taken via CareFlite air ambulance to an unspecified hospital.
Witnesses say the crash happened about 1:30 p.m. and she was flown from the scene about an hour later.
An investigating state trooper could not provide any additional information as of the Index's deadline Wednesday.
