Included in the agenda for Monday's Palo Pinto County Commissioners' Court meeting is proposed action to set the first public hearing date for countywide minimum standards for rental manufactured-home communities.
Commissioners first discussed the issue in a meeting last month during which County Judge David Nicklas explained county officials reviewed comparable models from other communities.
He said he did not feel any one set of standards would meet the unique needs of Palo Pinto County and requested the county's engineering department draft a document specifically for local use.
Nicklas explained the standard should focus on major issues, such as drainage, explaining a certain level of infrastructure regulation is warranted to support the county's growth.
Commissioners will decide if and when to schedule the initial public hearing for the proposed code.
Commissioners will also discuss the status of the ongoing countywide burn ban and determine whether it should continue or be lifted, in light of recent weather conditions.
