A revitalization project funded by four local grants is currently under way to repair water damage to the walls of the Mineral Wells Woman’s Club.
Club president Sharon Owens said the building’s roof was replaced after it began leaking, though damage to interior walls remained. She said the club applied for and received grants from the city, Historic Mineral Wells, Brazos Foundation and Kessler Foundation, explaining the club also contributed funds to the approximately $10,000 project.
As of Friday, drywall and paint crews had completed work on two rooms and the main hallway while workers continued repairs to molding in the historic building’s lobby.
