The Mineral Wells Police Department responded to a burglary incident Thursday afternoon, but no shots were fired – contrary to the initial call out and rumor around town.
According to MWPD, police received a call from a resident in an apartment complex in the 300 block of N.W. 10th Street. The individual reported a loud noise at their neighbor’s house.
A police spokesperson said when MWPD arrived on the scene, they found a suspect had kicked in the door of the apartment.
After contacting the owner, who was not at home, police searched and cleared the residence. Police said the forced entry made the incident a burglary, but there was no visible damage inside the home.
Police said an incident report has yet to be filed, so any more details about the incident have not been publicized. However, MWPD confirmed that no shots were fired in the incident.
