“In 2008, I bought the 1923 Model T Roadster,” he said, saying he felt blessed to be able to enjoy the rare automobile for several years. “I gave kids rides in it at the church.”
In addition to the raffle, he said a number of items will be available during an auction set to kick off the event.
“The auction starts at noon and Sheriff Ira Mercer will come in a little before 2 [p.m.] to do the raffle,” he explained. “One lucky person will win that hot rod.”
Only 200 tickets, selling for $100 each, are available. To purchase tickets, contact Lawrence at (817) 333-8060, or Ted Oliver at (940) 45-0231. The auction and raffle drawing will take place at the Fellowship Hope Center, 6364 Farm-to-Market Road 4, in Lone Camp.
“The car is in Mineral Wells this week,” Lawrence said, adding locals can see it at various local destinations before it is transferred to its new owner.
