Because of this morning's rainfall, Palo Pinto County Judge David Nicklas will lift the burn ban at 3 p.m. today to allow outdoor burning of brush piles. The ban will remain lifted until commissioners reinstate it. They have scheduled a special meeting Wednesday at 1 p.m.

Delivery of Friday, Sunday print editions again delayed
Ongoing icy road conditions have forced another delay in the production and delivery of the Index's Friday and Sunday print editions.
Weather continues to cause print edition delivery problems
Due to the major ice storm that hit the area hard, Friday's print editions of the Mineral Wells Index, along with sister publications the Weatherford Democrat and Cleburne Times-Review, all printed in Weatherford, could not be delivered because of hazardous road conditions caused by an area-wide layer of up to 3 inches of ice and sleet.
Mineral Wells Merchants Community Christmas Parade postponed
Due to anticipated icy conditions and below-freezing temperatures, the annual Mineral Wells Merchants Community Christmas Parade, scheduled for Saturday, will be postponed until Dec. 14.
