Mineral Wells Index

The Mineral Wells Police Department rolled on a few assaults this past week, but two in particular featured suspects brandishing particularly unusual choices of weaponry, both on June 24.
The first was around 12:30 p.m. Police report a man was sitting in his home watching television when suddenly his cousin burst through his front door. According to reports, the cousin then proceeded to demand $10 as he held his Winchester 1026 air rifle – or as Ralphie from "A Christmas Story" would say: BB gun -- to the victim's forehead.
The assailant fled, leaving his weapon at the scene. The BB gun bandit remains at large.
Police report the second crime, occurring between 9:20 p.m. and 10:10 p.m., began as a typical domestic disturbance call. A man threatened to harm a woman with a machete.
The machete, initially thought to be fictional, turned up at another location. Regardless, the suspect was arrested for a terroristic threat.
