Entries Needed for the 2013 Palo Pinto County Fair – The Palo Pinto County Fair will be held Jan. 9-11 at the Palo Pinto County Sheriff’s Posse building in Mineral Wells. Entries are needed and will be accepted on Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2-8 p.m. The fair is open to Palo Pinto County residents of all ages and features a variety of classes in art; photography; needlework, quilting and sewing; hobbies and crafts; shop and tack; baked goods and candy; canned goods; and the kiddies department. Weather continues to cause print edition delivery problems
Due to the major ice storm that hit the area hard, Friday's print editions of the Mineral Wells Index, along with sister publications the Weatherford Democrat and Cleburne Times-Review, all printed in Weatherford, could not be delivered because of hazardous road conditions caused by an area-wide layer of up to 3 inches of ice and sleet.
