Police said two weekend crashes in Mineral Wells resulted in the hospitalization of all occupants involved.

According to Mineral Wells police reports, the first crash occurred around 4:44 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of S.W. 1st Street.

Investigators determined the only vehicle involved, a 1995 Dodge Dakota driven by Gary Michael Wooten, 31, of Mineral Wells, was traveling east along 1st Street just before the crash.

A witness account included in the police report indicated Wooten may have been traveling at an unsafe speed and was possibly involved in a street race with another vehicle.

At one point, police said Wooten lost control of the truck, left the roadway and hit a tree on the south side of the roadway.

Wooten was taken to Palo Pinto General Hospital and his passenger, Donna Kay Hartinagel, 23, was transported via air ambulance to John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth. Authorities described both occupants' injuries as incapacitating.

The reporting officer listed speeding as a contributing factor. Police issued Wooten citations for no motor vehicle liability insurance, failure to drive in a single lane, driving while license invalid, and traveling at an unsafe speed.

The second wreck happened Saturday around 11:23 p.m. in the 1000 block of S.E. 15th Street, according to reports.

Investigators determined Carol Lynn Manley, 59, of Mineral Wells, was driving east in her 1997 Nissan Maxima along 15th Street when she hit a parked vehicle.

Police said the 2006 Chevrolet 1500 was legally parked on the street.

According to the investigator's report, driver inattention, failure to control speed, and failure to drive in a single lane were contributing factors in the crash.

Police issued Manley a citation for no motor vehicle liability insurance. Reports show she was taken to PPGH with possible injuries.
