Ludie Ann Holley
Ludie Ann Holley, 101, died Feb. 18, 2008, at her residence in Mineral Wells.
Service is 10 a.m. Thursday, Feb. 21, in the Baum-Carlock-Bumgardner Chapel. Burial will follow in Woodland Park Cemetery. Visitation is 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
She was born Feb. 26, 1906, in Jack County, the daughter of Marvin and Dora Howell Turner. She was the last of 11 children born to this union. She married Martin Holley on Dec. 29, 1924 in Jack County, and they were married for 56 years until his death in 1980. From this marriage they had six children. Until she was no longer able to do what she loved, you could see her enjoying being a superb cook, sewing, crocheting, quilting and gardening as well as being a grandmother and great-grandmother.
She had lived in this area for 62 years. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church since the late 1940s and a member of the Pythian Sisters. She worked at Davidson’s Hardware for 40 years.
She is survived by her daughters, Eldora Craig of Oklahoma City, Zelma Warren of Weatherford and Marlene Bordon of Mineral Wells; son and daughter-in-law, Howard and Liz Holley of Henrietta, Texas; grandchildren, Sherry Jared and husband, David, of Oklahoma City, Shona Gary and husband, Jim, and Rick Shank of Mineral Wells, Randy Shank and wife, Kathy, of Mineral Wells, Jimmy Warren and wife, Barbara, of Weatherford, Holley and Kelly Warren of Weatherford and Mark Davis of Wichita Falls, Texas; nine great-grandchildren; nine great-great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Mary Turner of Grand Prairie, Texas.
She was also preceded in death by eight brothers; two sisters; son, Zebbie Holley in 1979; daughter, Lanora Brom; and three sons-in-law.
