PALO PINTO – Palo Pinto County is seeking people to serve on either Emergency Services District No. 1 or ESD No. 2.
Palo Pinto County commissioners will be appointing three members to each board. In ESD No. 1, the terms of Lynn Reasoner, Ken Backes and Carolyn Land are set to expire.
ESD No. 1 board members oversee operations, tax revenue and expenditures related to countywide rural firefighting and emergency medical service in the portions of the district served.
ESD No. 2, which serves the county's southeast quadrant including Santo and the interstate, oversees operations, tax revenue and expenditures related to providing emergency medical services in that district.
In order to serve, a person must be at least 18 years of age; a resident of the state; a qualified voter within the area served by the district; or the owner of land subject to taxation in the district.
The commissioners’ court shall consider relevant factors in determining the individual to appoint as emergency services commissioner, including whether the individual has knowledge that relates to fire prevention or emergency medical services relevant to the common policies and practices of the boards.
These are two-yer terms. Any qualified person interested in appointment to one of the boards should send a brief resumé of their qualifications and a cover letter detailing why they would like to serve to the Palo Pinto County Judge, P.O. Box 190, Palo Pinto, TX 76484, or email County Judge Shane Long at email@example.com.
