Grandparents raising grandchildren focus group, sponsored by the North Central Texas Area Agency on Aging

and the University of North Texas, is set for 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, June 5, at the Mineral Wells Senior Center, 102 N.W. 6th Ave., in Mineral Wells.

“We are asking for your opinions, feelings and attitudes toward raising your grandchild, needed resources of information and support for you and your grandchild, as well as your views about difficulties you have had or are having at present getting help, services, support or information for you as a grandparent caregiver for your grandchild,” said Dr. Bert Hayslip Jr. of the Department of Psychology at the University of North Texas.

In order to participant  in this focus group, you must be at present raising a grandchild under the age of 18 and co-residing with that grandchild.

Organizers hope to have 15-20 grandparent caregivers for the focus group, and each grandparent who participates will receive a $20 Chili’s gift card.
