Man arrested for stealing gas

A man was arrested around 3 a.m. Friday for allegedly attempting to steal 10 gallons of gas from a pickup parked in the 100 block of East Hubbard Street.

Patrick David Mullins, 53, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Friday for criminal mischief, less than $50, and theft, less than $50.

Around 2:45 a.m., a caller told police he observed a man under a truck.

An officer reportedly observed Mullins pulling out a filler hose and putting it in a can, according to police.  

Drug dog helps with arrest

Jimmy Loyd Brown, 31, of Whitt, was arrested Sunday for possession of a controlled substance, less than 1 gram, possession of marijuana less than 2 ounces and running a stop sign.

Police said Brown was stopped for running a stop sign 1800 block of S.E. 4th Avenue around 8 p.m.

Brown refused to give police permission to search the vehicle so police called the K-9 unit, which alerted on the vehicle, according to police.

Substances believed to be methamphetamine and marijuana were found in the vehicle, police said.

Burglaries

• A stereo system was reported stolen from a 1999 Chevrolet pickup parked in the 600 block of Farm-to-Market Road 1821 with the windows rolled down.

• A gaming system was reported stolen from a residence in the 700 block of S.W. 22nd Street between 2 a.m. and 7 a.m. Friday. Police believe entry was made through an unlocked door.

• A set of power tools valued at $200 was reported stolen from the bed of a 1994 Chevrolet pickup parked in the 2000 block of S.E. 21st Street between 8:30 p.m. Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday, police said.

Arrests

Mineral Wells police reported the following arrests:

• Tabitha Denise Robinson, 25, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Thursday on warrants for speeding, driving without a license and insurance.

• Joseph Allen West, 36, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Saturday for possession of a controlled substance, less than 1 gram.

• Eldio Rodriguez, 59, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Saturday for simple assault.

• William Lee Sager, 29, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Saturday for possession of marijuana, less than 2 ounces.

• Eric Manuel Cortez, 22, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Sunday for possession of marijuana, less than 2 ounces, and public intoxication.

• Audrey Mae Sawyer, 27, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Sunday for speeding in a school zone, driving without insurance, and failure to display a license.

• William Floyd Watts, 19, of Mineral Wells, was arrested Sunday for expired inspection and warrants for permitting a person under 18 to ride in the bed of a truck and possession of drug paraphernalia.
