MILLSAP – With school out for the summer, activities of interest to the kids are beginning. One of the first in the area is the Vacation Bible School of Soda Springs Baptist Church.
Kim Wright will direct the event with a kick-off splash day on the church lawn on June 12th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a slide, bounce house, and some delicious refreshments. With a theme of “Saddle Ridge Ranch” the program will officially begin on the 13th and run through the 16th. It will be a wonderful way for the kids to spend a part of each evening, the time being 6-8:30 p.m. For more info call Betty Jones at (817) 594-3446.
The kindergarden graduation was a delightful event with around 60 children being promoted. Each kid told what their plans were when grown up, and these included everything from a wife to a race car driver. With a slide show presentation it was easy to see what a very educational and fun-packed year the faculty had provided for the young ones. This group will certainly make an energetic bunch of first graders!
Special congratulations are in order to Millsap High School valedictorian and salutatorian. C.J. Nolen is the valedictorian and a National Merit Scholar, while Katrina Nieman is the salutatorian. This is a monumental achievement for these young adults as every grade for the four years of their high school career goes into this award. May you both, and all of the class of 2010, have a very bright future!
Colby Radford, of the Soda Springs Community, is home for the summer, after having resided in Borger where he finished up an associates degree. Two other young men of the area have completed fire academy and EMT educations. Spencer Parker, son of Donna Parker, attained this accomplishment, as did Dan Davidson, son of Ronny and Brenda Davidson. Dan has moved to Eastland to begin his career in this field.
Happy birthday to a very special young man, Jon Brents, on June 5th!
