In accordance with Texas Department of State Health Services, students must be current on their immunizations in order to begin the new school year on Aug. 27.

The school nurses and administrators of Mineral Wells ISD would like to remind parents that they are obligated to monitor student’s immunizations and deny attendance to those students who do not meet state requirements.

School nurses mailed notices to parents of students needing immunizations during the summer break. If parents are unsure of their child’s immunization status, they should contact their personal physician.

If they do not have a personal physician, they may receive immunizations at The Bridge to Health, located on the Mineral Wells High School Campus on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

They can also visit the WIC office at 208 N.W. 2nd St. Mondays through Thursdays for immunizations. There is a charge at both clinics if students have no insurance or Medicaid coverage.
