Hello Millsap and friends,
Black Friday sales have already started! Retailers are starting earlier and earlier to try to get ahead of one another. I suppose the days of waiting in line all night to be one of the first 25 in the store are over. Hopefully, there won’t be crowds trampling each other in Wal-Mart to get to those great deals.
The Community Turkey Dinner last Sunday was a success. The food was delicious and everyone seemed to enjoy seeing each other and visiting with friends. Here is a HUGE shout out to the Millsap Garden Club and the Millsap Masonic Lodge for all the planning and cooking they did to make this event possible. Thank you to everyone who stopped by in support of their efforts.
Congratulations to Mrs. Triem on being chosen as a People’s Choice teacher in Parker County. She teaches at Millsap Elementary. Another special congratulations to Mindy Maas of Mindy’s Boutique in Millsap who is also a people’s choice winner. Misty Triem and Mindy are sisters!
Folks who use Millsap Water Supply will soon see an increase due to the City of Mineral Wells raising its rates.
The Millsap annual “Lighting of the Christmas Tree” celebration will be December 14th and there will again be vendors. If you would like to have a booth, contact Mark Barnes, City of Millsap, at 940-682-1446, or Natasha Howard at 817-304-3329. There will be a chili cook-off with prizes as well. Many other activities will provide for a fun evening with the family.
The Garden Club met on Wednesday to enjoy lunch and fellowship. Plans were made for a Christmas party on December 3rd (the next meeting). Everyone is invited to bring a $20 gift for a holiday gift exchange.
Keep the family, friends, and many students in your thoughts and prayers as so many are dealing with the loss of Mr. Chris Goen.
As the holiday season is upon us, I am truly thankful for the blessings of living in this community and this country. Remember to count all your blessings.
