Hello Millsap,

Are you enjoying all your Christmas gifts? My husband and I were given a robot vacuum. I have spent a lot of time watching it, trying to establish the somewhat random pattern that it seems to follow.

The only thing I am sure of is that it is following me from room to room and gobbling up crumbs! My husband even told it to go away, but it didn’t yield to his command. We have changed its name from Robot to Rover.

The Board of Directors for the Millsap Community Center will meet there January 16th at 10 a.m. Everyone is invited to attend. This is an opportunity to be a part of the maintenance and decision-making processes. If you are interested in any aspect of the community center, please bring your support and suggestions and come.

The annual water board meeting is Jan. 21st at the Millsap Community Center.

The January meeting of the Garden Club was Wednesday. The ladies of Millsap and surrounding areas enjoyed a pot luck lunch and lots of visiting. The theme was games so everyone had a great time playing Bingo! Plans are ongoing for the February 8th Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser.

Our community food bank (housed at First Baptist Church-Millsap) reports a good supply of corn and green beans. Donations of canned meat and toiletry items are appreciated. The pantry is open on Tuesday from 8:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

FEBRUARY 3, 2020 is the deadline for nominations to the Millsap High School Hall of Honor. Nomination forms are available on the MISD Home Page. Go to “community” and find the Hall of Honor link. There you will find the form to nominate.

The nominations should be returned to the administration office (Connie Weiss). Selections are made by the Alumni Foundation and presented later on. This is a way to recognize those that have given above and beyond to the Millsap Community. It can include former students, teachers, MISD graduates, or outstanding community members.

Please keep our military and our country’s leaders in your thoughts and prayers.

Have an unforgettable week.

THOUGHT: Gratitude turns what we have into enough.
