Mineral Wells ISD recently learned they were awarded a $53,090 School Safety and Security Grant from the Texas Education Agency.

Natalie Griffin, Executive Director of Special Programs, applied for the grant in late January with the objective to supplement the safety and security measures already in place at MWISD.

Based on recommendations from the district’s Safety and Security Committee, the grant will be used to install bullet-resistant film to entrances of all MWISD campuses.

"While we have multiple measures in place, we are always seeking to improve the safety and security procedures for our students and staff; this grant will allow us to continue our efforts," read a district release announcing the grant award.
