WEATHERFORD – A two-vehicle crash Thursday afternoon in Parker County claimed the life of a Poolville man, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
According to a DPS report, the wreck occurred about 1:50 p.m. Thursday at the intersection of State Highway 199 and Salt Creek Road.
A preliminary investigation shows that a 1999 Plymouth Grand Voyager was traveling east on SH 199 and attempted to turn left onto Salt Creek Road. The Plymouth failed to yield the right-of-way to a westbound 2007 Chevrolet truck, which struck the turning Plymouth in its passenger side.
The driver of the Plymouth, Dickie Strickland, 41, of Poolville, was transported to a Fort Worth area hospital by ground ambulance. A passenger, James Strickland, 52, also of Poolville, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Both the driver of the Chevrolet, Travis Watson, 72, and passenger, Patti Watson, 64, of Copper Canyon, were uninjured.
