Class 1A Graford jumped out to a 20-12 first-quarter lead and turned back first and third-quarter rallies by 4A Bridgeport as the No. 3 Rabbits improved to 17-6 on the season with a 70-56 win Tuesday.
Xavier Harrison’s double-double led the way as he scored 27 points and pulled down 17 rebounds. Cody Lemley and Marc Matthews both grabbed nine rebounds and scored nine points each as they narrowly missed the double-double mark. Tanner Ford’s 15 points were second in scoring for Graford.
“Being our last game before district and we felt we need to play well, Coach Ty Tabor said. “Bridgeport is well-coached, and it was a good test for us. We are very pleased with the overall effort of the team.”
The Rabbits host Woodson Friday and are on the road at Perrin Tuesday for more league play.
