Community Christian improved to 3-1 on the season with a 74-40 win Tuesday over Covenant Classical as three Warriors scored in double figures, including a 33-point performance from Joshua Guzman.
The Warriors blew the game wide open after taking a 17-12 first-quarter lead when they went on a 28-12 tear in the second stanza. A 22-12 third quarter ensured the Warriors would seal the win as Community Christian allowed only four four-quarter points.
Guzman wasn’t the only player who lit up the scoreboard as Kameron Mahaney came up with 23 points, and Jackson Horton had 10. Guzman and Mahaney were efficient from the field hitting 71 and 68-percent of their shots, respectively.
The Warriors also got four points from Ethan Hobson and two points each from Lane Gore and Bryce Haralson.
Since opening the year with an 80-52 loss to Chisholm Trail Academy, the Warriors have rattled off three straight wins with a 58-36 topping of Victory Christian and 86-36 throttling of FW Hill School.
Through those four games, Guzman has led the way for Community Christian with a 23-point per game average, and Mahaney has netted an average of 18. Horton leads all rebounders with an average of 5.3 per game, and the Warriors average 27.3 boards a contest.
