At 8-13 on the season, Mineral Wells has no place to go but up Friday as District 7-4A basketball gets underway.

The Lady Rams are on a two-game winning streak and are hoping to make that three games with a road-win against Alvarado Tuesday.

Coach Tony Raffaele would have like to ease his squad along the ladder of district play but finds himself on the top two steps.

The Lady Rams are going to be thrown into the heat of battle against the league’s two best teams as they first play Stephenville (19-7) and Glen Rose  (19-5) on Tuesday.

Brownwood is the only other team in the district with double-digits in the win column at 13-9, and Godley is 7-11.

Friday’s District 7-4A opener tips off at home against Stephenville at 7:30 p.m.
