The Lady Rams soccer team dropped a 2-0 contest to Godley Tuesday after making several fixable mistakes against the Lady Wildcats.

“We are not passing the ball very well because we are rushing,” Coach Rolando Borjon said.

Communication or rather a lack of it is what appears to be hurting Mineral Wells the worst, and that can make a young player feel like they are an island and battling alone.

“We are struggling a little bit because we are hurrying to pass the ball when there is no need,” Borjon said.

A Mineral Wells player can receive the ball with plenty of room to dribble the ball forward or backward, but their teammates are not telling them what’s happening around them.

“I told the girls that we can repair the fixable mistakes, but there is a point where we have to come together and create our ‘own luck’ out there,” Borjon said. “We have to come together, not repeat mistakes, and communicate with each other.”

Mineral Wells took 12 shots on the goal against Godley with Alayna Guttierrez shooting four times and Emily Buzman getting three attempts.

Alexia Rodriguez worked the goal and had 13 saves as Goldey took 15 total shots.

The Lady Rams have three straight road games against Aledo, Decater and WF Old High before returning to Ram Stadium Feb 10 (Burkburnett)and Feb 14 (No. 1 Stephenville).
