Community Christian’s Lady Warriors are 6-1 on the year and will host their home opener Dec. 1 when they play Chisholm Trail Academy in a 6 p.m. contest at the Mineral Wells City Gym.

C.C. has plenty of reason to look forward to the game because CTA handed the Lady Warriors their only loss in a 55-47 to open the season.

Gordon 34

The Lady Warriors exchanged blow after blow against Gordon and needed a strong second half to down the Lady Longhorns 40-34.

C.C. jumped out to a 16-19 first-quarter lead only to have Gordon rally in the with an 8-4 second quarter. The Lady Warriors made some great defensive adjustments and sparked a rally of their own by holding Gordon to five points in the third quarter that gave C.C. it needed for the win.

Emilee Reed popped the net for 16 of the Lady Warriors’ points while Abigail Brazeal netted nine, Krystin England scored seven, Elaina Buchanan added six, and Kennedy Richards had two.

Mid-Moore 21

Community Christian dominated in every aspect of the game and called the dogs off early as the Lady Warriors out ran Mid-Moore Homeschool 62-21

Five Lady Warriors scored in double figures as England and Brazeal topped all players with 13 points each. Kate Buchanan scored an even dozen, and E. Buchanan and Reed were right behind them with 10 points each while Jaylee Manness and Jaycee Gilbreath.

Through seven games this season, the Lady Warriors are averaging 46.3 points per game with Reed averaging 11.8 and Brazeal right behind her with a 11.2 mark.
