Bulldogs cruise to easy win over Dublin
MILLSAP – Mat Callan rushed for four touchdowns and Zeb Littlefield passed for two more Friday to lead the Millsap Bulldogs to a dominating 56-0 rout of the Dublin Lions.
With the win, Millsap improved its season record to 1-1. Dublin, which has been outscored in its two games by a 111-0, is 0-2.
The Bulldogs didn't waste any time in putting the Lions on their heels. Millsap scored three times in the first 12 minutes – including two on runs of 61 and 19 yards by Calan – and raced to a 21-0 advantage.
Matt Duggar caught a 24-yard TD pass from Littlefield for Millsap's other first-quarter score.
The Bulldogs blew the game wide open in the second quarter. Callan pushed his way into the end zone twice more in the frame, scoring on runs of three and four yards, respectively.
Paden Ross caught a 45-yard pass from Littlefield to account for the Bulldogs' other score.
Littlefield and Roy Chavez both rushed for TDs in the second half to close out the scoring.
Millsap, which amassed 403 total yards on offense, will travel to DeLeon this Friday.
Longhorns win; Strawn falls to 0-2
The Gordon Longhrns and Strawn Greyhounds continued to go in opposite directions Friday.
Gordon improved to 2-0 with a 56-8 win over Comanche Paradigm.
Strawn, despite two touchdowns from Aaron Doyle and a solid defensive effort from Parker Purvis, fell to 0-2 with a 64-52 loss to Jonesboro.
Gordon will travel to Kopperl this week, while Strawn hosts Irving Universal.
Warriors drop 74-60 title to AFHS
ARLINGTON – The Mineral Wells Community Christian Warriors suffered their first setback of the 2010 season on Friday, dropping a tough 74-60 decision to Arlington Fellowship.
With the loss, MWCC slipped to 1-1.
Community Christian was hampered by injuries in the contest. The Warriors were forced to play much of the second half with just six players when injuries sidelined quarterback Kade Cole and running back Daniel Hollingsworth.
CCS will return to play Friday when they host Fort Woprth Hill at Miller Stadium.
City View rolls up 530 yards in 56-20 win over Perrin-Whitt
WICHITA FALLS – The City View Mustangs scored three touchdowns in the second and third quarters and rolled to a 56-20 win over the Perrin-Whitt Pirates Friday evening.
The loss spoiled a solid outing by running back Bryce Cameron. The P-WHS senior rushef for 212 yards and two TDs.
City View finished the game with 530 total yards, including 475 via the ground game.
The Pirates, 1-1 overall, stayed close early. Cameron scored on a 8-yard run late in the first and helped Perrin fight to within 14-7.
City View reeled 28 unanswered points from there and built a 42-7 lead.
Perrin ended City View's run with a 42-yard scoring pass in the third.
Perrin-Whitt will host Lake County this Friday at Pirates Field.
