With the final second slipping off the clock, Caleb Clark scored his only basket of the evening blasting home a three-pointer for an improbable 45-44 win over Benbrook.
Trailing by as much as ten points during the fourth quarter, it appeared the Rams basketball team was going to drop its first game of the season before mounting their charge.
Nathan Peterson, Mason Facteau, Landon Houston, Robert Gillen, Aidan Crawford and Clark combined for 17 points in the final period, and the Rams forced turnover after turnover to limit the Bobcats to just one point per minute.
Gillen helped keep the Rams within striking distance over the first three quarters and finished with a team-high 11 points. Houston’s two three-pointers was also a team-high. Crawford led the way at the free-throw line as he hit 4-of-6 attempts.
